Legal process
Why a recorded box is the only kind an attorney can recommend
A storage arrangement that hid anything from a court would be worthless to a client the moment it came out, and dangerous to the lawyer who suggested it. So nothing here is hidden.

Every renter is identified
Against government-issued photo ID, at intake and at every visit after it. The same applies to anyone acting for the renter.
Every visit is logged
Who came, when, and to which box. The log exists whether or not anyone ever asks for it.
Legal process is honored
Valid warrants, subpoenas and court orders are complied with. There are no anonymous, unrecorded or off-book arrangements, and there never have been.
Storage protects nothing
A vault box does not put property beyond the reach of seizure, forfeiture, restitution, creditors or a tax levy. Anyone told otherwise has been told wrong.
The honest version
The point is that the things are still there, still recorded, and still reachable by the right person when the sentence ends.
If the goal is to keep property away from a court, a victim, a creditor or the government, we are the wrong call, and we would rather say so now. What we offer is continuity: a box that does not lapse, a list that does not depend on memory, and one named person who can act.
For defense attorneys →Questions about legal process
- Will you tell the renter if records are requested?
- TODO_FACT: Florida Intervault's notice practice when served, where the law allows notice. Where an order forbids notice, we follow the order.
- Can someone store property that is part of a case?
- That is for the renter's attorney to decide before anything moves. We will not knowingly accept property a court has ordered held elsewhere.
- Can the IRS reach a vault box?
- Yes. Federal law lets the IRS levy property, including the contents of a box, to collect unpaid tax after notice. Source: 26 U.S.C. § 6331 — checked 2026-10-19.
Settle it before the date, not after.
A short call is usually enough to know whether a box is the right answer. If it is not, we will say so. Attorneys and family members are welcome to call on a client's behalf.
